Lightkeeper's Society
Gift helps ensure
quality care for
growing population.
John and Marjorie McGraw were very
appreciative of the Lightkeeper’s benefits when
their daughter was rushed to the Emergency
Center at Cape Cod Hospital in 2002. Already
supportive of the Hospital, they became Lifetime
Members of the Lightkeeper’s Society in
spring 2004 with a $1 million gift for the new
Mugar Bed Addition at Cape Cod Hospital, set
to break ground in the spring.
“I was intrigued with the need for the tower
and wanted to help make it a reality,” John
says.
“With the Cape’s growing senior
population and increasing needs, I felt it was
important to be
able to continue the high quality
of care Cape Cod Healthcare provides.”
Later in the summer, Mr. McGraw experienced
the benefits of the Lightkeeper’s Society firsthand
when he ended up in the Emergency
Center at Cape Cod Hospital. “I was never so
well-taken care of in my life as I was those
three days,” he says. “In addition to the
wonderful care I received from the Hospital, the
Foundation staff was there for my wife and
family making sure they understood everything
that was happening and had everything they
needed. They really cared and it showed.”
The Lightkeeper’s Society helps members navigate
the health care system, extending a friendly
hand when needed most. For more information
